Zappos, Delivering Happiness, Culture...Im WOW'd

I recently completed Tony Hsieh's book Delivering Happiness and I am truly inspired! since that time I have attempted to implement core values with my team at work. This is an ongoing process and my biggest challenge is getting buy in from team members who dont see the value of Core Values yet. It's a challenge I hope to overcome very soon (any ideas for readers would be much appreciated). I am now developing Core Values at home as well. I believe this concept can apply to all aspects of life (including raising kids).  Tony was right when he talks about Core Values and how if done right shouldn't be very different at home vs. work. If you do it right, they are inherently very similar and I am seeing that while going through the process of developing 'commit-able' core values.

Since reading the book I have recently received the Zappos Culture book, which is a fascinating read to go through and see what Zappos employees feel about what Zappos is doing and what the culture is like.

I am also reading up on the whole idea of happiness and have signed up to be a VHP on the DeliveringHappiness.com and encourage you all to go to the website by clicking the button below.
I am officially WOW'd by both what Zappos is doing and by the Delivering Happiness (DH) Movement.

Give Blood on 9/11

Did you know?... Chino is home of the USA West Coast Headquarters of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. You may of driven past their beautiful Mosque on Ramona Ave. here in Chino.

This year the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, USA is commemorating the victims of 9/11 in a most honorable fashion. For the 3000 lives that were horrifically lost on 9/11, this peaceful Muslim community wants to show that Islam is really about saving lives, not taking lives. Their goal is to save 10x more lives then were taken on on 9/11. With each bag of blood saving a potential 3 lives...the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is aiming to collect 10,000 bags of blood, saving 30,000 lives!

Here in Chino you can go to the Baitul Hameed Mosque at 11941 Ramona Ave. on September 11th and participate in this grand effort.
